Even when their kids are grown, they can't stop trying to tell them what to do!
This tiny female cat (on the right) is still able to boss around her full-grown son. For some reason she didn't want him to walk where he was going and she successfully stopped him with a swipe of the paw.

This cat is now the matriarch of a family that lives behind my building. This is a picture of her the first time I met her, last year. She curled around our legs but wouldn't let you pet her, I'd say she's about 3/5ths wild.

Where does the time go? I can't believe it's been two weeks since I last posted here! Of course more than a week+ of that I didn't have access to the internet...
This tuxedo cat was on the perfect little perch, but I was only able to snap two photos of him before he ran away. The first was blurry, and in this one his ears are back because there was a noise from the building behind him. I think the combination of me standing there holding a camera and the noise from behind was too much, and so he took off. Cute little guy (or girl?).

The M on a tabby's forehead

This cat's mother is a brown tabby and his father was an orange. And look at the markings above his eyes, see how one eyebrow is black and one is orange? He's got a bit of both of their genes showing on his face, even though he mostly takes after Mom.

Did you know some stories about why tabbies have "M"s on their foreheads?

"In Christianity, the "M" marking on the forehead of tabby cats is said to be where Mary touched and blessed a tabby cat that comforted her baby.

In Islam, the "M" marking stands for the prophet Mohammed (Muhammad) who had a great fondness for cats. While dogs are considered unclean by many Muslims, cats - who frequently bury their own waste and rarely eat another animal's faeces - are not."

I've heard the Mohammed story before, but not the Mary one! (And I quoted the above text from here).

Cats just love to lie on the hoods of cars, must be the engine heat. This cat looked like he didn't want to be disturbed. This is another offspring of the yawning cat pictured below.

Sometimes I thought that maybe I should change my City Daily Photo blog title from Belgrade Daily Photo to The Daily Cat because of how much I like to take photos of kitties, and it finally occurred to me, why not start a blog specifically for images of Belgrade cats? So here it is, post #1. These two cats aren't in a cage, they're chillin' behind a window grate.

I'm still working out the bugs in my blog layout so bear with me!
